This mounded tomb is located on the north side of Hakayama Mounded Tomb, which is situated in almost the center of the Furuichi Mounded Tomb Group.
In 1995, as a satellite tomb of Hakayama Mounded Tomb, which is a nationally designated Historic Site, Nonaka Mounded Tomb was also nationally designated as a Historic Site.
