Kuroda Shrine

This shrine is listed as a prestigious shrine in the Engishiki (Japanese book about laws and customs), established in the early 10th century.
In the shrine’s precincts is a stone lantern on which the name of the era starting in 1372 has been carved. (The era name was used by the Southern Dynasty during the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties.) The lantern has been designated as a cultural property of the city.
